At Taxi Trip Zanzibar, we strive to provide reliable, safe, and flexible airport transfers and island-wide taxi services. This Cancellation & Refund Policy outlines your rights and our procedures. It complies with Tanzanian consumer protection laws, Zanzibar tourism and transport regulations, and international best practices.

All cancellations must be made in writing via email, WhatsApp, or phone to ensure proper processing.

1. How to Cancel or Modify a Booking

Contact us as soon as possible using any of the following channels:

Please provide your booking reference, name, pickup details, and reason (optional). We will confirm receipt within a few hours (24/7 support available).

2. Cancellation by Customer (You)

Refunds are processed based on the time remaining before the scheduled pickup:

Notes:

  • Free cancellation within 24 hours of booking — If you book more than 7 days in advance, you may cancel for a full refund within 24 hours of making the booking.
  • Rescheduling is preferred and often free or low-cost if done early (subject to availability).
  • Peak periods (high season, holidays, or special events) may have stricter conditions, clearly stated at the time of booking.
  • Bank or payment gateway fees are non-refundable.

3. Cancellation or Changes by Taxi Trip Zanzibar

If we cancel or make significant changes to your booking, we will offer a full refund or a comparable alternative at no extra cost.

Force Majeure: No refunds for events beyond our reasonable control (e.g., extreme weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, road closures, etc.). We will assist with alternatives or future credits where possible.

4. No-Show Policy

If the driver waits at the pickup location (typically 15–30 minutes for airport transfers) and you do not appear, it will be treated as a no-show with no refund.

5. Refunds Process

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method.
  • Mobile Money (M-Pesa, etc.) refunds are usually processed fastest.
  • Credit/Debit Card refunds take 5–14 business days.
  • We do not refund tips, extras, or third-party fees.

6. Special Circumstances

  • Flight Delays: Inform us with your new flight details. We will adjust pickup time at no extra penalty when possible.
  • Health or personal emergencies will be considered on a case-by-case basis with supporting documentation.

7. Dispute Resolution

8. Policy Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The policy in effect at the time of your booking will apply.
